The South Central Region includes 8 member college, geographically distributed from Antelope Valley and College of the Canyons in Los Angeles County; Moorpark, Oxnard, and Ventura Colleges in Ventura County; Santa Barbara and Allan Hancock Colleges in Santa Barbara County to Cuesta College in San Luis Obispo County. The region is diverse both geographically as well as politically with both rural and metropolitan areas across the four counties. Five of the colleges are single college districts while the remaining three are associated through a multi-college district.

The combined colleges serve approximately 100,000 students and offer a breadth of occupational programs in Accounting, Aeronautical and Aviation Technology, Business Management, Computer Technology, Health Careers, Biotechnology, CISCO networking certification, Media Arts, Fire Technology, Auto Technology, Marine Diving Technology, Hotel and Restaurant Management, Horticulture, Exotic Animal Training and Management, Viticulture and Welding.

Most of the colleges offer customized workforce training for business and industry as well as economic development programs.
